Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited grows across divisions

Traveling is an exciting time for many Iowans. For the staff at Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited, planning travel is just as exciting and rewarding. The full-service travel management company and agency was founded in the Corridor more than three decades ago. The staff support of offerings ranges from corporate travel management to vacation planning services.

The corporate travel management division provides companies with multiple booking tools and options with a focus on cost containment and passenger services, including traveler safety and duty of care. The staff enjoys the workplace culture that Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited provides and the growing corporate travel business. According to Corporate Travel Sales Manager Daniel Gladish, “It’s encouraging when we have seen over 20% corporate travel growth in the last year.”

Corporate incentive travel programs and reward travel is a specific division that blurs the distinction between corporate travel management and leisure travel at Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited. These programs are designed to reward employees, clients and suppliers through travel gift certificates and experiences at great locations around the globe.

Expertise in travel and travel management is aplenty at Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited, where the staff is comprised of industry experts who have traveled to all 50 states and more than 60 countries. This expertise is essential to travelers with numerous options for booking travel. In fact, the use of travel agents is increasing as younger generations are aging. The recently released 2017 Portrait of American Travelers by MMGY Global reported that over one-third of Millennial respondents say they plan to use the services of a traditional travel agent for a vacation during the next two years.

As Millennials increase their plan to use travel agent services, Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited has the expertise to retain new clients as they have over the years. Jane Schuyler, Vice President, Vacation Travel Division, believes it is “the reliable, honest and quality service that clients receive from our travel agents,” that keep clients coming back for more travel service.

As the largest agency in the Corridor, there is a great deal of travel knowledge that spreads far and wide including romantic destination weddings and honeymoons around the globe. The locally owned company has multiple divisions because it employs 22 full-time employees plus a growing independent contractor network. Company President Anne Jasper says that the independent contractor division is expanding as of late. The company growth has led to an exciting office move from Collins Road in northeast Cedar Rapids to downtown Cedar Rapids on First Street southeast.

“Of the many reasons I love working at Travel Leaders / Destinations Unlimited, the opportunity to share my travels with clients and the flexibility offered by the company are top of my list,” Australia and New Zealand Certified Specialist Laura Clark said, “You can’t really put a value on that in the workplace today. I can truly say that I feel like I don’t really work because I love what I do.”
