| THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17 – Arrive Oahu. Upon arrival
you are greeted in the traditional Polynesian way – with a warm aloha
and a lei of fresh flowers. Then transfer to the Sheraton Waikiki Resort
located on the best stretch of legendary Waikiki Beach with breathtaking
views of the ocean from its newly transformed guestrooms. The remainder of
your day is at leisure.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18 – Oahu. Join your Tour Director for
breakfast to review activities scheduled throughout your stay. This island
is a wondrous combination that blends big city shopping, nightlife, and
entertainment with abundant nature, historical significance, and Hawaiian
tradition. Just steps from your hotel visit Waikiki Beach Walk, this area
is an outdoor entertainment plaza with restaurants and shops. This
evening, enjoy an optional sunset cruise with dinner. (B)
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19 – Oahu. Few experiences are as poignant
as standing on the deck of the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor; begin
your day with a sightseeing tour out to this hallowed site, honoring those
who lost their lives, also time to visit the Museum. Then it’s onto
Punchbowl National Cemetery and Honolulu Lookout. Other sights include
Chinatown, the Hawaii State Capitol, royal ‘Iolani Palace, and the
statue of Kamehameha the Great. Tonight, a wonderful evening of dining and
entertainment awaits! (B,D)
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 20 – Oahu-Hawaii. Fly to the "Big
Island" of Hawaii where Hawaii Volcanoes National Park occupies a
starring role. Discover a geologic wonderland of craters and lava tubes as
you explore its surreal landscapes. Following lunch as the Volcano Golf
and Country Club we will arrive at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa
on tranquil Keauhou Bay, a gathering place for manta rays. (B,L)
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21 – Hawaii. Enjoy a day of relaxation at our
hotel perched on an ancient lava rock shelf overlooking Keauhou Bay. This
resort centers on a fantasy pool complex with waterfalls and whirlpools.
Our tour escort will be on hand for suggestions if you wish to further
explore the Big Island on your own. Enjoy a feast of Hawaiian traditions
tonight, from food to song and dance at an authentic luau set amidst a
backdrop of tiki torches, swaying palms and oceanfront magic. (B,D)
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 – Hawaii-Kauai. A fragrant botanical
world of manicured gardens, lush valleys and tropical rainforests welcomes
you to Kauai today; one glimpse and you’ll know why it is referred to as
the "Garden Isle." Stop at 40 foot Opaekaa Falls on the Wailua
River, ringed by a backdrop of mountain peaks, on our way to Princeville
for lunch overlooking Bali Hai, from the movie South Pacific. After lunch,
we will continue south to sunny Poipu Beach, our home for the next three
nights, the Sheraton Kauai Resort. (B,L) |
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23 – Kauai. Our resort embraces
sun-kissed Poipu Beach, where temperatures linger idly around 80 degrees.
The resort spans 20 acres of pristine beachfront, where the sound of the
waves will relax and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. You may choose
to join us as we tour the Fern Grotto this afternoon before Dinner. (B,D)
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24 – Kauai. Start the day with a drive to
Waimea, once the Polynesian capital of Kauai, and the site where Captain
Cook landed in the islands in 1778. Sightseeing highlights include WAIMEA
Canyon, the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," and Hanapepe Valley.
A stop at the largest coffee plantation in Hawaii, KAUAI COFFEE COMPANY,
includes time at the visitor center where you can watch videos and learn
all about coffee production and the history of the company. (B,D)
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25 – Kauai-Maui. Fly to nearby Maui this
morning for three nights. Maui wears her most distinctive landmark as a
crown, weaving the majestic beauty of dormant Mount Haleakala into lands
cloaked with legends and lore. See iconic Iao Needle on a drive into
beautiful Iao Valley and pass sugar cane fields on the way to the old
whaling village of Lahaina. We will then continue to Kaanapali, to our
resort, Sheraton Maui, our home for the next three nights. (B,D)
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26 – Maui. Enjoy
your day on Kaanapali Beach, considered one of Maui’s best beaches
stretching along 4 miles of golden shoreline. Dotted with hotels, open-air
restaurants, and the Whalers Village shopping center, Kaanapali features a
paved beach walk that makes strolling a pleasure. Consider a
whale-watching cruise this afternoon. These humpback whales put on a
spectacular show of breaching, tail, and fin slapping during this peak
time for their winter migration to Hawaii from the waters of Alaska. (B)
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27 – Maui. Ascent to the summit of Mount
Haleakala, Maui’s legendary "House of the Sun" viewing the
extraordinary volcanic landscapes of the crater. Drive past vegetable
farms nestled on the hillside en route back down to your resort. There’s
plenty of time this afternoon to relax and enjoy you’re your final day
of the tropical sunshine. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special
farewell dinner. Wonderful conversation and cuisine make the perfect
finale to a memorable Hawaiian vacation. (B,D)
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28 – Maui. After breakfast, we will be
transferred to the airport for our overnight flight home arriving on
