Cunard’s Queen Mary 2
In days gone by, travel was more about how you got there
than where you were going. It’s still that way with Cunard. |

Fly to New
York. We will board our private motorcoach for our transfer

Manhattan. You are free to enjoy the rest of the day in the Big
Apple.
Friday,
September 10, 2010 – New York
This
morning we board our private motorcoach as we travel to the first
of three National Trust for Historic Preservation sites we will be
visiting. The Lower East Side Tenement Museum was home to
more than 7,000 immigrants from 1865 to 1932, who helped to build a
modern America. After our tour, we will return to our hotel where
the afternoon is at leisure. Tonight we will see a Broadway Theatre
performance specially selected by Jim Kern.
Saturday,
September 11, 2010 – New York
Today we
are in for a glimpse of life far removed from the Lower East Side
Tenement as we travel through the Hudson Valley to Tarrytown to explore
two of New York’s finest Trust Sites: Kykuit and Lyndhurst. Our
private coach will take us to Kykuit for our first tour of the
day. Tour the beautiful house and gardens built by the family of
John D. Rockefeller, philanthropist and founder of Standard Oil
Company. We will enjoy a box lunch after our tour. Our coach
will then take us to Lyndhurst, America’s premier Gothic
Revival mansion, designed by A.J. Davis. We will return to our
hotel by late afternoon so that you may enjoy your last night in New
York before we set sail. (L)
Sunday,
September 12, 2010 – at Sea
Late
morning we will transfer by private motorcoach to Port Brooklyn Pier,
where we will board the Queen Mary 2. You are about to begin your
journey between continents on the most luxurious ocean liner afloat. (L,
D)
Monday,
September 13 to Saturday, September 19, 2010 – at Sea
You now
have the opportunity to step back in time and enjoy a bygone era of
civilized, sophisticated travel, yet keeping the best of the 21st
century. You will have a list of 101 things to do on your crossing. How
many are you able to fit in during our seven days at sea? Play bridge ·
take computer lessons · improve your photographic skills · read a book
· enjoy the only Planetarium at sea · attend a lecture · enjoy a
theatrical performance · take dance lessons · play a round of golf on
the golf simulator · enjoy Afternoon Tea · eat fish and chips · savor
a cappuccino · watch bubbles rise in your champagne · stroll the deck
· work out in the gym · pamper yourself at the spa · or relax and do
nothing at all! Jim has also planned a few special activities just for
the Brucemore travelers to enjoy. How nice to arrive in Europe without
any jet lag! It will be hard to bid farewell to the Queen! (B, L, D
